Greg Meeks has over 20 Years experience in the rural transit field. He specializes in the start-up and development of Rural Public Transportation Systems encompassing Fixed Routes and Dial-a-Rides. Completed projects include turning around a beleaguered transportation system for the City of Solvang/Buellton, where his efforts increased ridership 500% over a five year period with a fare box increase from 4% to 10%. The system he developed for the County of San Luis Obispo in Cambria was recognized for the delivery of outstanding services with selection as the #1 ranked transportation system for small cities in the State of California. As a mover, shaker and operations director of five divisions at Santa Barbara Transportation, he established a new Charter Division which increased revenues by 600% in 18 months.

Dan Herron has 17 years of transit planning and financial management experience; 12 with a regional transportation planning agency and five with the California State Department of Transportation.

Mr. Herron’s background includes extensive grant writing experience for federal, state, and local foundation funding. His administrative experience spans grant management, budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance.

As a transit planner, Mr. Herron has supervised contracts for over 30 transit performance audits and over 20 short-range transit plans. In 1999, Mr. Herron’s work resulted in a California Transportation Foundation Tranny Award for transportation excellence for the San Luis Obispo Council of Governments’ Welfare Reform Mobility Study in San Luis Obispo County. The study was one of only five funded by the Federal Transit Authority nationwide and has been used nationally as a model of its kind.
